CTN Data Service, Inc. was incorporated in 1980 and is a privately owned corporation which serves the grain elevator market with a history of successful systems and support that has contributed to a well known reputation of quality.
CTN Data Service, Inc. is located in Hamilton, Indiana, the middle of America's most productive farmland. Connecting computers with grain elevators, co-operatives, and fertiliser dealers has been CTN's key to success for over 250 Midwest companies. A well-built proven track record with first-rate support for customers has made CTN a leader in the agribusiness area.
CTN offers grain accounting software in a complete and totally integrated package that does all the accounting an agribusiness will ever need. CTN furnishes all the necessary hardware including computers, printers, terminals and all required accessories.
CTN offers a fully supported customer service department with staff accountants to provide technical support to customer accounting personnel.
Farm Works grew out of CTN in order to better serve farmers at grower level. Taking the same approach to integrating software for maximum efficiency, the name quickly became a recognised leader in agricultural software operations.
Farm Works Ltd. was established by Ian Harley in April 1996 and run from his home just outside Stirling. Continued success and expansion saw September 2005 mark a move to new premises in Enterprise House, located beside Stirling Albion FC's Forthbank Stadium.
In January 2007, Farm Works' parent company CTN was purchased by the current management team on both sides of the Atlantic. Ian Harley, Scott Nusbaum, Tony Bowers, Claudia Weesner, Mike Psurny, Brian Stark and Deb Hurraw were all co-owners.
On July 17, 2009 Trimble (NASDAQ: TRMB) announced it had acquired the assets of privately-held CTN Data Service, LLC, creator of Farm Works software, located in Hamilton, Indiana.
